Child’s Mother Speaks About the Mandalay Earthquake

Mandalay, April 6.

On March 28, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar, and since then, people in Mandalay, who were affected by the earthquake, are in need of assistance.

The earthquake caused widespread destruction in most of the areas in Mandalay, as well as damage to homes and buildings. As a result, temporary shelters are urgently needed.

Although some temporary shelters have been provided to the affected people, it has been reported that these shelters are insufficient, and there are people who are still struggling to live in proper conditions.

The earthquake, which originated about 12 miles to the northeast of Mandalay city, also caused destruction in the historic buildings of the Sagaing region and the Mandalay region.

As a result, Mandalay, Sagaing, Magway, Bago, eastern Shan State, and Nay Pyi Taw were declared emergency zones by the National Natural Disaster Management Committee of the military junta on March 28.

The Border News Agency has visited Mandalay city to inquire further.
