The Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government is organizing capacity-building training programs for Muslim women in areas controlled by the Arakan Army (AA).
These programs include sessions on Muslim women’s rights, empowerment, and awareness-raising talks on various topics.
These activities are jointly conducted by the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government and the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Arakan Students’ Union.
Although women from diverse backgrounds across the Arakan region are actively participating in the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government, local residents note that the involvement of Muslim women remains limited.
Nevertheless, they also point out that within the administrative structure of the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government, many individuals are serving in official positions based on their qualifications, with no discrimination based on ethnicity or religion.
Therefore, locals believe that Muslims living in Arakan should also strive to meet the necessary qualifications and actively participate in order to gain more inclusion in governmental mechanisms. They emphasize the importance of collaboration and taking on responsibilities where possible.
In the final phase of the Arakan war, the Arakan Army has taken control of 15 townships, including Paletwa region, and is implementing administrative mechanisms in those areas.
Only three townships Sittwe, Kyaukphru, and Manaung remain to be captured by the Arakan Army, with intense fighting currently ongoing in Sittwe and Kyaukphru.
