WFP Maintains Crucial Food Assistance for Rohingya Amid Funding Challenges

The Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) has expressed deep gratitude to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and its donors for their continued support in assisting Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char.

Despite significant funding shortages, WFP has maintained food assistance at a nearly consistent level, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the well-being of the Rohingya population. Under the revised structure, Rohingya refugees will receive:

✅ USD 12 per person per month in Cox’s Bazar
✅ USD 13 per person per month in Bhasan Char

This support remains vital for sustaining food security and nutrition among the displaced communities. RRRC acknowledged WFP’s relentless efforts to mobilize resources and ensure that the Rohingya refugees are not left behind.

However, the RRRC has also called on the international community to step up with necessary funding to sustain these life-saving programs in the long run. Without continued financial support, the food security of nearly one million Rohingya refugees remains at risk.

The Rohingya crisis remains one of the world’s largest and most protracted refugee situations, and ongoing international support is essential to address their humanitarian needs.
