Three Civilians Killed in Junta Drone Strike on Kyaukphru Township

Local residents from Kyaukphru say that on April 25, the Myanmar junta launched a drone bombing attack on Leik Kha Maw village in Kyaukphru Township, killing three civilians.

The victims were identified as Ma Thein Thein Aye (47), Ma Chaw Su (39) both daughters of U Maung Htun Aye and his granddaughter, Ma May Thazin Khine (11), all from Leik Kha Maw village.

Local residents from Kyaukphru say that on April 24, the Myanmar junta also carried out a drone bombing attack on Yenan Taung village in Kyaukphru Township, killing one civilian and injuring another.

Tensions remain high in Kyaukphru Township as clashes continue between the Arakan Army and junta forces. Arakan locals report that the junta is deliberately targeting civilians in the area with daily and continuous attacks.

In the final phase of the Arakan war, the Arakan Army has taken control of 15 townships, including Paletwa, and is now implementing administrative mechanisms in those areas.

Only three townships Sittwe, Kyaukphru, and Manaung remain to be seized by the Arakan Army, with intense military tensions ongoing between both sides in Sittwe and Kyaukphru.

In Kyaukphru Township, the junta forces are reportedly using suicide drones, heavy artillery, warships, and fighter jets to deliberately target local civilians, according to residents in the area.
