My name is Amir Hussain, and I reside in Camp 1, C7 Block. I am requesting to bring to your kind attention the serious problems we are facing due to an open drain near our camp’s home.
The drain poses a significant risk to the residents, especially children and elderly people. It is extremely difficult for us to move in and out of our homes. Children frequently fall into the drain while walking or playing, resulting in serious injuries that often require hospital visits. Elderly individuals have also been hurt, sometimes severely, when trying to cross the drain, especially at night.
In addition, going to the bathroom at night becomes very difficult as we have to walk over or near the drain. This is especially dangerous for the elderly and children.
There is also a mosque nearby, but there is no proper road or safe crossing to reach it. We have tried building temporary bridges over the drain using wood or other materials, but they do not last more than 10–15 days and break down quickly, making the situation even more hazardous.
We are in urgent need of a permanent and safe solution such as a strong bridge or a proper covered drainage system. This would greatly improve safety and ease of movement for everyone, particularly vulnerable members of our community.
I kindly request you to consider this issue seriously and take the necessary steps as soon as possible. Your help would bring great relief to all of us.
Thank you for your attention and understanding.
