On May 30, some videos showing armed individuals claiming to be Rohingya training in military drills along the Arakan-Bangladesh border were posted on social media.
The Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) is reportedly conducting military training on the Bangladesh side of the Arakan-Bangladesh border.
According to Rohingya refugees, this group is well-organized and operates freely while living in Bangladesh.
Additionally, among the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), and Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA), it is said that the RSO is the most active group operating primarily in Bangladesh.
The group is actively operating along the border areas, including Naf River, and has firmly established military training camps and bases stretching from Taungpyo to Bandula.
In these training sessions, they are reportedly using drones, RPGs, and practicing the use of heavy firearms.
Additionally, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) has been carrying out violent border crossings and attacks, including abducting, killing, and forcibly recruiting civilians.
Rohingya armed groups have frequently launched attacks against the Arakan Army as well, so local Arakan residents say the Arakan Army does not yet have full control over the Arakan-Bangladesh border area.
According to the Rohingya community, armed Rohingya militants and militant Muslim fighters undergoing military training are gathering strength and preparing to launch attacks aimed at capturing Maungdaw, Buthidaung, and Rathedaung townships.
In the final phase of the Arakan war, the Arakan Army successfully took full control of Maungdaw Township on December 8 of last year.
