A new organization called the “Bamar Army (Bamar Tat Taw)” has been formed today, January 1, under a new structure to oppose the military dictatorship by mobilizing and organizing Burmese nationals for the resurgence of Burma.
It has been announced that battalions and units with a common goal of overthrowing the military dictatorship and a willingness to collaborate have been united to form a new structure. This organization has established five political policies and six military policies as its foundation.
The Bamar Army aims to collaborate harmoniously with revolutionary organizations and alliances under a balanced political and partnership policy framework, according to the announcement.
Furthermore, it is stated that the organization is grounded in the spirit of the Panglong Agreement and envisions contributing to the resurgence of Burma as a critical part of establishing a genuine Federal Democratic Union. This union will ensure equality among all nationalities, full self-determination, and self-governance.
Therefore, it is emphasized that there is a need for revolutionary forces comprised of dedicated Burmese nationals to emerge and fight relentlessly for the resurgence and liberation of Burma.
The statement did not disclose where the Bamar Army is based or which groups have joined to form it. However, it pointed out that the revolutionary progress in Magway, Sagaing, and Mandalay regions has been facing delays.
In Myanmar, the Arakan Army was the first to adopt the term “Tat Taw” in its name among armed revolutionary groups. Following the Spring Revolution and the subsequent rise of armed resistance, many other revolutionary groups began incorporating “Tat Taw” into their names as well.
The Arakan Army is reportedly providing various forms of military support to armed revolutionary groups opposing the military dictatorship. This includes assistance with organizational structuring, military training, weapons and ammunition, as well as other forms of operational aid, according to statements from Spring Revolution armed groups.
